We make and distribute positive, innovative educational content to reduce child abuse.

  • Content is co-created with students, therapists and business executives.

  • We ground our content in optimism, fun and simple empowering key messages (versus fear, negativity and messaging complexity)

  • We leverage the same sophisticated marketing techniques found in advanced corporate consumer promotions - brand positioning, disruptive storytelling, mobile tech, integrated marketing, viral marketing giving the halo effect, diversity and inclusion.

  • Oh, and it's free...

  • Pioneering since 2000: We have consistently led in the development and distribution of innovative content.

  • Broad Reach: Over 150 school counselors across more than 25 states have been equipped with our meticulously curated content kits.

  • Impact in Charleston: We have educated over 5,000 middle school students in the Charleston region alone.

  • Preventing Child Abuse: We've identified numerous instances where child abuse was averted, attributed to the empowerment students received from our 'Know Your Three' initiative.

  • High Retention at Porter-Gaud: Comprehensive surveys indicated a 98% retention rate of pivotal information from our training.

  • The "Halo" Effect: Over 90% of students who didn't directly attend our sessions were informed about the content by their peers, leading to a significant 90% content retention.

Know Your Three Training

  1. Message in a Bottle Initiative:

    • Elevate awareness by distributing capeLABS designed water bottles to middle schools. Inside, an empowering message emphasizes the significance of having three reliable adults as a support system.

  2. Content Evaluation Team:

    • We've crafted the latest rendition of "Know Your Three" with new education of trusting instincts.  Students' discerning perspective is essential: Will it resonate with the middle school demographic?

  3. Winter Strategic Outreach Group:

    • As the winter season approaches, students' networking prowess is sought. Connect with local educational institutions and organizations to disseminate our comprehensive booklets, offering invaluable content at no cost.  We need schools set up for spring Child Abuse Prevention Week.

  4. Hero Academy Development Team:

    • Contribute to the inception of the "Hero Academy" – a groundbreaking initiative at Porter-Gaud. Collaborate in helping build and test a prototype that has the potential to redefine child safety paradigms.

  5.  "Empower the Mission" Project:

    • Dive into resource mobilization by strategizing and executing a fundraising plan with the esteemed Porter-Gaud Foundation. Funds are essential for printing booklets, securing postage, and engaging developers. Not only will you drive significant societal impact, but this distinguished endeavor in nonprofit fundraising is also highly regarded by university admissions panels. Are you up for the challenge?

  6. Technological Innovation & Execution Effort:

    • For students with a penchant for IT and computer science: Let's ideate and develop a digital solution to combat child abuse. It's an open brief for you to do something amazing and creative.   For example, is there a VR application that could reduce bullying?    🌍📚.

“We can stop child abuse, but we have to be able to talk about it first. Some adults might not want to talk because they think it is not going to happen to the kids around them — but to avoid it, you have to have that conversation.”

Mia Hellman Class 2022 - Porter-Gaud School Co-founder, Know Your Three

“I’ve often thought about what education I could have been given that might have stopped the horrendous child abuse that happened at my high school thirty years ago. After extensive study with victims and experts in child abuse prevention, we have developed KnowYourThree to be that education - empowering children to know what abuse is and specifically who to go to until it stops.”

Stafford Green Class 1983 - Porter-Gaud School Co-founder, Know Your Three"
